Orhan Pamuk, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, created the Museum of Innocence alongside his novel of the same name, and opened it in 2012 in a red house in Çukurcuma. Its cabinets of everyday objects, matchboxes, clocks, photographs and thousands of cigarette butts, evoke the Istanbul of the 1950s to the 1970s. You do not need to have read the book to be moved by it.
