Çırağan Palace, built for Sultan Abdülaziz in the 1860s and 1870s, stands right on the European shore of the Bosphorus between Beşiktaş and Ortaköy. Today it is a Kempinski hotel, with rooms in the palace and the modern wing, a famous waterfront pool and palatial terraces. Even if you do not stay, come for tea or a drink on the terrace.
