The back story

About The best restaurants with a Bosphorus view: the back story

The shores of the Bosphorus are lined with restaurants, from palace dining rooms to fish restaurants in the villages. We have chosen the ones where the view is part of the meal and the cooking lives up to it, and checked each against its own website and the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Türkiye.

Palace dining

Between Beşiktaş and Ortaköy, the old palaces have their own restaurants. Tuğra, in Çırağan Palace, serves Ottoman and Turkish dishes in grand rooms and on a waterfront terrace and is in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide. Next door, Lokanta Feriye revisits Ottoman recipes in the 19th-century Feriye buildings, right on the shore.

Fish by the water

At Kuruçeşme, Park Fora puts its tables at the water’s edge, with the Bosphorus Bridge in view; it is also in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide. Further north in Bebek, Sankai by Nagaya brings precise Japanese cooking to Turkish fish and holds one MICHELIN Star.

The best seats on the Bosphorus are booked first: ask for the terrace or the window when you reserve.

The Asian shore

Across the water at Anadoluhisarı, beside the second bridge, Lacivert serves Mediterranean seafood with a view back to Rumelihisarı. On the Asian side the evening sun lights up the European shore, so it is a wonderful place for a long summer lunch.

Up on the hills

For the panorama, go up: Sunset Grill & Bar sits high in Ulus Park above Kuruçeşme, looking down on the bridges, and in Karaköy, Mürver cooks over wood fire on a rooftop facing the mouth of the Bosphorus and the old city. In Beyoğlu, Mikla (one MICHELIN Star) and Nicole (one MICHELIN Star) have rooftop views across the city to the water.

Tips

Book well ahead for summer evenings and weekends, and ask for a terrace or window table. Smart casual dress is the norm. Taxis along the shore road are slow at rush hour; a ferry to Beşiktaş or Bebek, or a short taxi from Kabataş, is often quicker.

Our advice: choose one waterfront dinner, at Tuğra, Feriye or Park Fora, for the classic Bosphorus evening, and one long lunch on the Asian shore at Lacivert. Arrive before sunset to watch the lights come on along both continents.
