Beylerbeyi Palace, built in the 1860s as a summer residence for Sultan Abdülaziz, stands on the Asian shore just north of the Bosphorus Bridge. Smaller and more intimate than Dolmabahçe, it has fine interiors, waterfront pavilions and gardens. Combine it with a walk along the shore to Çengelköy.
